Politics in India today is chock-full of celebrities, mainly Bollywood stars in a mid-life career change. But politics is serious and requires wisdom and leadership. Actors should stick to what they’re best at – acting – and leave politics to those with knowledge and expertise.

Experts are warning of a long winter ahead as COVID-19 and influenza put the squeeze on hospitals and other healthcare facilities. In response to the threat presented by the second wave, European countries and many US states have instituted population lockdowns that involve varying restrictions on movement, meeting people, work, schooling, shopping, hospitality and entertainment.
Schools throughout India closed for months this year, and remain so in many parts of the country. At the same time, families in desperate financial circumstances have no choice but to send children out to work. Everyone’s future is at stake if we let the next generation miss out on education.
